POLLY HENRIETTA HUDSON was born September 10, 1904 in Parker, Idaho, the daughter of the late George Washington Bell and Deborah (Brown) Bell. She was raised and received her education near St. Anthony, Idaho.

She was united in marriage to F.D. "Dick" Lynch on July 2, 1923 in Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, in July of 1942 after an automobile accident near Forest Grove. They had been maried for nineteen years.

On September 26, 1947 Polly was united in marriage to Henry T. "Hank" Hudson at Vernonia, Oregon. They celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary this past September. Following their marriage they have made their home in Vernonia.

Polly owned and operated the Lynch Autoparts in Vernonia for several years. In 1947 Hank joined her in the operation of their business, Bell Hudson Insurance Co. until 1964 when they retired. Mrs. Hudson also owned and operated Polly's Variety Store in Vernonia from 1939 to 1964, besides being the property mangager for their rental properties.

She was an active member of the Vernonia Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having held various positions within the church. She was also an active member of the Vernonia Senior Center. Among her special interests she enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and carpentry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sarah Bell.

Mrs. Hudson died Monday morning, April 26, 1993 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Henry T. "Hank" Hudson of the family home in Vernonia; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah O. and Phillip D. Meyer of Aloha, her foster daughter and spouse, Margaret Haiman and Victor York of Groveland, California; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Louise Bell of Wrangell, Alaska; and three sisters, Rhoda J. Bell Woods of Coos Bay, Oregon; Mary Ellen Bell Glenn of Dallas, Oregon; and Bessie E. Bell Wells of Merlin, Oregon. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.




The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to a charity of one's choice or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, c/o Bob E. Holbrook, Branch President, 1157 Juniper Street, Vernonia, OR 97064, in her memory.

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the grave dedication to be held back at the church.
